Ghaz Dheri

    Ghaz Dheri is an archaeological site in Charsadda, Pakistan, that belongs to the ancient Buddhist civilization of Gandhara. It is located near the village of Ghaz Dheri, on the bank of the Swat River. The site consists of a large stupa, a monastery, and other remains. The site was excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India, Frontier Circle, in 1902-03. The site dates back to the 2nd century BCE to the 5th century CE, and shows the influence of various cultures, such as Greek, Scythian, Parthian, Kushan, and Gupta. The site is one of the 85 sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that are under the protection of the Federal Government¹.
